I signed up for trial offer with BuyLowAuctions for $4.95. I received 10 bid coupons with my trial order, but quickly upgraded to lots more for next to nothing. If you like auctions, you will like this. What a rush!
The BuyLowAuctions “stick” is that you never have to pay over $20 for anything….any they have $500 gift cards in the mix. Bids go up by a penny each bid, which makes for very interesting last 20 seconds. What intrigued me was that the bidding could go to $300 or $400 and yet the price would be $20….or less.
The BuyLowAuctions’ auction model is well thought out and very addicting so be careful….you might not get anything else done.
….OK. Got to get back to an auction that I’m watching.

We live in a strange world where sometimes ethics take over from common sense. I can fully understand the problems some people have with the concept of stem cells, particularly when they are collected from fetuses after pregnancy terminations.
Of course, if that pregnancy had been allowed to continue the resultant birth would have provided far more in the way of stems cells than that obtained through an unborn fetus. I am not advocating for or against terminations here, just stating an fact.
With every newborn baby comes an umbilical cord and placenta. These are full of blood that they baby no longer requires, blood that is full of stem cells. After delivery, the umbilical cord is cut close to the baby’s stomach. This is done once the baby has been successfully delivered and is no longer relying on the cord for food or oxygen. The opposite end of the umbilical cord is attached to the placenta and once that has exited the body, the whole lot is generally disposed of as hospital human waste.
The blood found in that umbilical cord is full of stem cells. Stem cells are actually the basic building blocks of human life. Once an egg has been fertilized, stem cells start the growth of every part of our body. In some strange way, each stem cell seems to have a particular role. It will become a heart, or a kidney, or anyone of the umpteen thousand other cells found in human body.
Scientists are now trying to find out exactly how stem cells work. Why does one stem cell develop into a kidney while another develops into a liver, or heart or another part of the body. More importantly, how can they encourage a stem cell to grow a new heart or kidney.
What is known is that children with some forms of leukemia have been treated with stem cells and had their disease reversed. There have been a few similar situations in adults. Scientist feel that with further research, they may be able to unlock the stem cell’s triggers, thereby regrowing nerves in para/quadriplegics, those with various diseases such as Alzheimer’s, motor neuron and perhaps even type one diabetes.
There is a lot of excitement over what stem cell therapy can do for those that are sick or impaired. Of course, like all treatments that involve the transfer of human tissue from human to an other, there are the problems associated with rejection and blood matching. Stem cells do at least have a lower rejection factor than more mature cells.
What has become a growing industry is that of cord blood banking for personal use. This is now big business with fees for this service running into thousands of dollars. The object of the exercise is to bank baby’s cord blood for future use. The theory is that if baby develops any serious problems in later life (like leukemia), they will have access to their own stem cells to help with the treatment. To date, hundreds of people have stored their baby’s blood, but few have found it necessary to make a withdrawal. For those who have, the results have been extremely good.
Should you bank your baby’s cord blood. It’s a personal decision and certainly for those that have a family history of medical problems, storing stem cells may offer some benefit into the future particularly as science finds new ways to use these cells. For the majority of people, it could be a waste of money. They may be better off donating their baby’s cord blood so that others can benefit from the research and the stockpiles available for treatments. The money saved could ensure your child received a decent preschool to college education.
With five kids we have learned a lot so when it comes to dealing with childhood problems we’ve seen it all. Visit our site if you would like more information on umbilical cord blood banking or childhood promblems.

If you are in the mindset to getting a nice house for a really good price, then NOW is the time to buy that property. Whether you are in California home market, Arizona real estate, or any state in the USA; you would be best served if you purchased your next real estate product in 2010. We are never going to see lower prices than what we are experiencing now.
If you are upside down on your mortgage and the home’s value, its a good time to ask your accountant about the benefits of getting out from under now instead of struggling month after month because you believe the value will meet the mortgage amount. If you are paying higher than market value for your house in hopes of prices going back up to the original amount, ask your CPA if it makes sense to struggle with that payment. Housing prices will increase at the steady rate of 3 to 6% each year, so how far do you have to wait for the values to go past your mortgage amount? Think about it. Some family on the same street is paying 30 to 40% less than you are for the same house. Your dollar today is worth alot more than it will be 2 years from now. Talk to your accountant or financial advisor.
We have homes at below market prices for our preferred investors, so be sure to get on our list today so you can be one of the first to know when we have good deals available for sale. We help people get out of overleaveraged houses so they can make their dollars work better for them. Get on our mailing list or contact us if you have questions about stopping foreclosure and damaging your credit.
CA Homes and Real Estate is a blog from Alamo Capital Partners that gives information about the California real estate market and other points of interest in the lovely northern California region.

If you do broadcast engineering then you know how difficult it can be to keep tabs on racks and racks of television broadcast equipment. How do you keep track of hundreds of devices, many of them critical to revenue generation? Enter a network monitoring system…
Network Monitoring Systems Limitations
If you have tried to implement network monitor software for this equipment then you have faced many challenges. A network monitoring system for television broadcast equipment faces many hurdles. Most television broadcast equipment was not designed for easy monitoring. SNMP has been the battle cry in trade magazines but most broadcast equipment either doesn’t have SNMP capability or it is limited: all of the information you need to determine equipment health and for troubleshooting is not included.
We have not yet talked about media – the content that goes on the air. The flow of media from creation to air is the key metric in broadcast. It is important to track media if you really want to ensure the health of your broadcast system. Has the media arrived from the supplier and is it on the right server to play out?
Many IT people thrust into supporting broadcast operations have failed to realize the specialized nature of this equipment and the systems and assume that the same kind of monitoring system that keep tabs on office computer networks will do a good job here as well. There often gets to be a tension between broadcast engineers and IT personnel as limitations are seen when monitoring is added.
Diverse Equipment Makes Up Key Broadcast Systems
Consider a large video editing or newsroom system: there are lots of PCs and controllers gathered around central storage. Less than 20% of the equipment in these systems has any effective SNMP capability. To make matters worse the best troubleshooting information is usually held in equipment logs. These logs are often cryptic and manufactures have provided only a limited life for them. The logs can overwrite themselves, when there is trouble, in a matter of hours and sometimes even minutes. The data you need to provide the manufacturer to resolve the problem can be lost before you have an opportunity to collect it. These systems also incorporate many different operating systems sometimes with only terminal access making it more of a challenge to get data using a monitoring system.
Limitations Of Traditional Network Monitoring
The bottom line is SNMP will not do much for you in today’s television systems. Likewise with WMI, WMI can get you a lot of data about Windows systems but it is again only a piece of what you need. The fact is you must use all of it: SNMP, WMI, equipment logs, sometimes contact closures, temperature probes, voltage samples, and on and on. It gets to be kludge upon kludge to try to fit this into most monitoring systems and this doesn’t even get you to the point of considering the media.
After this data is collected something must be done with it. Traditional SNMP monitoring with WMI and some other extras added can send a variety of alerts and sometimes build maps but generally, because of the limited view given to the equipment, these network monitoring systems fail to give you a comprehensive picture of what is going on. What trouble is really lurking under the hood. You just can’t tell because of missing data and poor collation of the data that is collected.
These are some of the problems in broadcast engineering with network monitor software, some of the challenges that a network monitoring system should handle for you. Broadcast equipment is specialized and traditional monitoring systems just do not cut it. So much data is simply not collected and is ignored.
So how do you understand what your broadcast systems are doing? I invite you to learn more about network monitoring for television broadcast systems by visiting http://www.MTDSystems.com.

The first step in starting an Internet business is to make sure you pick a quality website hosting solution. If you don’t, all of your other online efforts will be wasted. Therefore, be sure and do some research so that you can find a service that can take care of all of your online requirements.
You must first determine what kind of website you wish to have. Do you want to have an online store or create a content focused blog? If you haven’t decided yet, you are going to need a hosting service that allows you to create a variety of different sites.
Have you ever created your own website before? If you have not, you are going to need a website hosting solution that has user friendly installation and design tools. Tutorials that are easy to understand will also be necessary so that you can quickly and easily get your new site up and functioning properly.
Do you know how to install a blog by yourself? If not, you definitely want a host provider that offers Fantastico. This is a wonderful tool that allows a user to install many different types of websites, including Wordpress blogs, with the click of a mouse.
Are you planning on owning several different domains? If so, you need to go with a hosting plan that allows free add-on domains. This gives you the ability to host an unlimited number of domains on the same account without incurring extra fees.
Regarding the subject of domains, the right website hosting solution will let you register your first one with them for free. They will value you enough as a customer to offer this as an incentive.
How much bandwidth do you think you will need? You will need a lot if you plan on having many images or movie files on your site. The better services offer unlimited bandwidth for free. Make sure you read the fine print of the plan you purchase so that you don’t get any surprises in the form of extra fees.
It is likely that you will want an email address that matches your domain name. It is also possible that you will want different addresses for different purposes, such as for customer support. If so, choose a service that lets you maintain multiple email accounts.
Do your research before picking a website hosting solution. It is well worth the time and effort it takes to ask the right questions before making a decision. Knowing what to look for in advance can reduce your expenses dramatically and help you get your new site functioning properly.

Because the site you’ll be putting up will be simple and basic in nature, you’ll only need some of the more fundamental tools. All of the cheap web hosting for beginners providers include a simple web design tool (usually a set of automated templates), a file manager utility to manage your website’s files on the server, and more than enough email accounts. As far as disk storage and network bandwidth allowances go these days, the trend is to offer unlimited levels for both, even in the most basic hosting package. (You can always purchase more later if you want to take your website up a notch or two in complexity.)
Beyond those preliminary requirements for your basic website, here are several more factors to consider. Do you plan on keeping your website online for a significant length of time? You can choose an easy web hosting for beginners monthly plan, or you can save quite a bit of money by signing up for a multi-year plan. Since it will take some time for you to get your site established on the web, I’d suggest you purchase at least a one-year deal. You’ll also probably save some money on that, too.
Virtually all hosting companies charge their customers’ credit cards these days, and it’s not uncommon for them to keep your credit card number on file for auto-renewal purposes. This provides two benefits for you – security, as using a credit card online is very safe, and availability, as your website won’t be deactivated mistakenly due to lack of renewal payment. I’d suggest having them set up your account in this fashion.
Even the easy web hosting for beginners providers’ plans differ a little, so you’ll probably want to do a little comparison research. You’ll want to try to get a sense of their server and network characteristics. Here are some things to stay alert to while you’re making these comparisons:
- Each plan offered will have a list of features for that package. See what it says about the server hardware you’ll be hosted on. Try to determine if your website will run a generic “white box” server, or on a quality server like those from Sun, HP, Compaq, or Dell.
- Make sure you can call a toll-free 8xx number for technical support; is that included in your potential hosting plan? Email and chat support channels work, but you may want more support than that.
- Will your account be using a shared IP address? It will only be a problem if another hosting account on the same IP address engages in bad behavior like spamming. The IP may then be “blocked” for some length of time. If it happens, then request your own “static IP”; it should cost you only a couple of dollars a month.
These tips may seem like a lot to remember, but if you do, you’ll be one of the better-informed new webmasters out there and will come out ahead. Try to take full advantage of any pricing specials being offered. Make your pick and it won’t be long before you’ll have your own unique presence on the World Wide Web. Enjoy! – 35303

Just how does a web document make its way to the internet? Actually, it has to be designed first. Someone who wishes to do so would make use of many different codes and programs to create a web site page.
It is not specifically a ‘web page’ at this time. Really the only individuals who may check out the actual webpage at this time are those that have use of the computer where it’s saved. It is usually uploaded for computers in a local network to see. However, if it’s the designer’s purpose to expose it to the world, or for the millions who view the online world regularly, he or she must utilize the service of a hosting company to support his or her website page.
To further comprehend what exactly a web host is, consider the online world as one big building, having units intended for rent. You’d have to literally rent one of these rooms for your web site to remain in. Consider web hosting providers as those land lords (and ladies) who you call to appropriate space for you in the Internet ‘building’.
After a web hosting company accepts an individual’s request to get your website page viewable on the internet, you would then go through the procedure of sending the details of the designed page to them. In addition to the the details about the design of the web page, you would also need to provide them with a sought after domain name.
Think of the domain name as being a title for your business. This is exactly what your potential site visitors will type into their web browser’s address bars to view your web site. When you inform the selected website hosting service of the domain name, it will then be subject for approval. What happens during this period is generally evaluation, in which they see if the domain name you select is still available for use, amongst other things. As soon as that’s completed, and if the domain name is discovered to be available, the web page is then saved and placed on the service’s host computer inside their location. Known as a server, this particular type of computer has the ability of allowing people around the globe to relate the domain name you selected to the web site which you developed.
Individuals and organizations normally choose to have a website hosting company maintain and hold their pages, because it’s very costly to operate a server computer. These prices that accompany many higher-end web host companies typically pay off in the end. You are typically given more flexibility to customize and personalize ones web page, in order to bring in a significantly larger quantity of surfers.
Talking about fees, there are a number of businesses that offers free hosting products. However, the disadvantage in these totally free sites is that ones options in customizing your website name are quite restricted. You might expect the particular name of the company incorporated in to the entire domain name in order to standardize things. Domain web hosting is important for your business – don’t trust your business to low value hosting sites.

To have a online presence, you must have a host. The two principal options available for website hosting are shared and dedicated packages. A web site that has dedicated hosting has the server all to themselves, whilst a shared host is split amongst many customers. This article will help you select the one that will work best for your online presence.
Web sites are stored on servers which are just computers that have been organized to respond to data requests from the internet. Each server has an unique Internet Protocol (IP) address made up of four sets of digits separated by dots such as 123.456.78.9.
Dedicated Hosting
For a dedicated server, all the power of the server, as well as the IP address, are unique to that web site and are yours to utilize as you desire. It can be utilized to host just one site or many. You have access to the entire bandwidth of the server, and you can utilize as much disk space as required.
Organizations with large complex websites that receive a lot of traffic really should have a dedicated server. Sites with a dedicated server are also able to execute any type of script they need. This is especially important for those that are developing new scripts and need to test them without affecting other web sites.
Shared Hosting
Web sites sharing a single server are sharing all the resources of that server. Shared hosting places several websites on the same server, all using the same disk space, bandwidth, and IP address. The host will limit each site to a specified amount of disk space and bandwidth to be utilized each month, in order to provide sufficient service to all the shared sites. Sites that go over their limit may be charged a substantial penalty or even temporarily closed down.
The number of sites that are shared by a particular server is not as important as the amount of traffic each is receiving. A server hosting 200 low traffic sites will respond much faster than one with 50 sites receiving lots of visitors.
Because the cost of running the server is split amongst many customers, shared hosting is much cheaper than dedicated. It’s available for as little as $1 a month, whilst dedicated hosting can run to more than $200 per month.
How to Decide Between Shared and Dedicated Web Hosting
Large complicated websites that expect to receive 1,000 or more visitors a day should opt for dedicated hosting. It’s also a good choice for developers who expect to research and test new internet technologies.
Small companies and individuals with small sites are probably better off with shared hosting. The cost is certainly more reasonable. Just be sure to choose a host with a good reputation who will protect your site from others that could put your site at risk.

Web hosting may sound like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be difficult.
There are many different packages you can subscribe to but it will all depends on whether you are looking to just post family pictures or you are serious about your online business and it’s presence on the worldwide web.
If it’s creating something for fun then a free web hosting provider is the way to go otherwise you will be looking for something a bit more professional.
If you are looking at serious hosting then check out our feature page on the best hosting for businesses. Otherwise, some of the factors you should consider are:-
Availability of Web Space
Web Host providers will allocate a specified amount of space and it is important to ensure that the limit allocated is adequate for your current websites and business requirements. You may also want to consider at this early stage the future needs since it’s easier and more convenient to do that with the same provider from the onset as the demands for space increase with the addition of graphics and videos on your sites. This will avoid complications of Domain names transfers to a different hosting company not to mention the impact of downtime and lost business on your websites as a result.
Data transfer (Bandwidth)
Data transfer and Bandwidth are terms often used interchangeably although there is a slight difference. Data transfer is all of the information transferred from your web site to your visitor’s computer while bandwidth is the capacity for this transfer.
